BRAZILIAN POWERS OF ATTORNEY FOR MARRIAGE

Normally the Power is needed by the party who is not Brazilian.
There are several documents which may be necessary: IMPORTANT:- Please check with the Register Office in Brazil as to their exact requirements, as these vary considerably.

Power of Attorney: This is for the party not present at the marriage.

Details required:

  • Copy Passport
  • Utility Bill
  • Full name, address, nationality, ID number and address of
    attorney in Brazil
  • Full name, nationality and address of fiancé(e)
  • Copy of fiancé(e)’s passport
  • Parents names of fiancé(e)
  • Name and address of Register Office in Brazil where marriage
    will be held

The document will be prepared in Portuguese, so no translation is required

Declaration of no-impediment:

Same details as above, though we do not need Attorney details
The document is in Portuguese

  • Certified copy of passport
  • Any legalisation is on top of this, though clients may do their own.
  • Other work, such as certified translations (e.g. Birth Certificate),
