MARRIAGE IN BRAZIL

In order to marry in Brazil, the non-Brazilian party MUST check with the Register Office in Brazil as to exactly which documents must be submitted, all of which must be authenticated by the Consulate General for Brazil.
Generally the following are required:

1. A Power of Attorney to commence the qualification process to marry at the Civil Registry Office. The Power of Attorney must state the full name of the bride/groom, names of parents, residence/domicile, the property regime to be adopted following marriage and the name which will be used afterwards by the bride/groom.

2. Declaration of no-impediment;

3. Certified copy passport;

4. Original Birth Certificate.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO CHECK
WITH THE REGISTRY WHETHER THE DOCUMENTS MAY BE PREPARED IN PORTUGUESE OR IF THEY SHOULD
BE IN ENGLISH

For preparation of the documentation, the non-Brazilian client must provide
the following information:

Original passport, proof of address, details of the representative in Brazil
(full names, nationality, RG and CPF numbers, address and occupation), details of the Brazilian fiancé(e) (full names, date of birth, names of parents, address in Brazil), the property regime which will be adopted following marriage and the name to be adopted by the bride/groom.

All the documents must be legalised by the Brazilian Consulate in London.

TRANSLATIONS

If required, we can translate the non-Brazilian party's documents into Portuguese, but IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CHECK WITH THE REGISTRY IN BRAZIL AND THE BRAZILIAN CONSULATE IN LONDON, AS TO WHETHER THE TRANSLATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

CASAMENTO NO BRASIL

Para casar no Brasil o estrangeiro interessado DEVERÁ solicitar informação ao Cartório do Registro Civil no Brasil sobre os documentos a serem apresentados, os quais deverão ser devidamente autenticados pelo Consulado Geral do Brasil.
Em geral, são pedidos:

1. Procuração para dar entrada no Cartório do Registro Civil no pedido de habilitação ao casamento. A procuração deve mencionar o nome completo do/a noivo/a, filiação, residência/domicilio, o regime de bens a ser adotado após o casamento e o nome que passará a adotar o/a noivo/a;

2. Declaração de não impedimento;

3. Cópia autenticada do passaporte;

4. Certidão original de nascimento.

É MUITO IMPORTANTE INFORMAR-SE JUNTO AO CARTÓRIO SE OS DOCUMENTOS PODEM SER PREPARADOS EM PORTUGUÊS OU SE DEVEM SER EM INGLÊS

Para a preparação da documentação o cliente estrangeiro deve apresentar a seguinte informação:

Passaporte original, comprovante de residencia, dados do representante no Brasil (nome completo, nacionalidade, número do RG e CPF, endereço e profissão), dados do/a noivo/a brasileiro/a (nome completo, data de nascimento, nomes do pai e da mãe, domicilio no Brasil), o regime de bens a ser adotado após o casamento e o nome a ser adotado pelo/a noivo/a.

Todos estes documentos devem ser legalizados pelo Consulado do Brasil em Londres.
